My life was Murphy's Law even in Maui!

I flew from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the island
of Maui in Hawaii.

On the plane

I was in the air for eleven hours. Twenty-four hours of travel. Maui is six hours behind Philadelphia. It would have been a quicker flight to Athens, London, or Tel Aviv than Maui!

Plane

As you know, my life is Murphy's Law. When I got to my condo, I hooked up my computer and spent four hours on the phone with some knucklehead who couldn't get me online.

And of course, I booked late. So I was forced to stay offsite for the Maui Writers Retreat which was held at the Wailea Marriott. I stayed at a condo called Maui Sunset, not the Four Seasons. Everyday I lived the contrast between the two.

This is the view from my condo.

View from my condo

And the lush foliage

When you can't afford luxury...

View from my balcony...I was oceanfront!

View from my balcony

Actually saw these surfers with my fancy schmacy telephoto lense!

I actually caught this surfer from my balcony

The waves in Maui are awesome. In fact it is home to the most famous surfing places in the world...Jaws!

Surfers from my balcony

Surfers are everywhere!

Surfers everywhere

This is the view right in front of my condo. Great beach right? I wasn't staying at any five star place trust me.

But that's what you get when you book last minute. I was desperate for a place to stay.

Now you want to see the difference...in what you pay for?

I couldnt get a room at the Wailea Marriot

This is where my retreat was...check out the foliage here!

This is what luxury buys

The old adage...you get what you pay for!

What an incredible place to be

I didn't have internet access for the longest time in my life.

Worth every dime

But then again I remember when there was no such thing as the internet. I missed my blog and I missed my blogging buddies. I missed email. I wrote alot. Took lots of pictures....there's lots more to come. Keep stopping by to see more........we've got two weeks worth!

Sorry Captain Lifecruiser that my trip was so screwed up...but then again. It's gonna last longer because I get to re-live this way! I hope you all enjoy it everyday as much as I do.

Thank You for Being Here. It really means a lot to me that you take time out of your schedule to come by.

Aha! Well I knew that Murphy's law would follow you, one way or another, so this was not a surprise! *giggles*

Looks wonderful anyway! Love the ocean.... ahhh... and it's so fun watching the surfers!!!

I hope you got a lot of your book written, so it did pay off.

Mary P Jones...you are so right. Problem was I had to keep driving to where my retreat was and that was a real pain...more importantly I never had any place to rest.

And the days were sooooooo freaking long...for old farts anyway!

Ev- I am SO glad your back! I have missed your comments! What a great post! Beautiful photos, look slike you had a lovely time! I can NOT wait to hear about the book! Things are crazy here! I have not slept in almost 31 hours, had to take Mom to the ER last night for a severe eye infection. Since she wasn't an urgent case we did ALOT of waiting! She is okay now and all is right with the world, except I have to function on no sleep! Argh! I am starting to think I may have a little murphy's law going on! Missed you friend! Take care of yourself! Glad your back!

In your first photo...I have that very same pen.

Luckily, I have it with me now so I don't need to launch any irresponsible accusations.

I've really missed you, and am glad that you're finally back :)

The photo's look awesome and how I wish I could be there ... one day, God willing!

Yup, blogging is definitely an addiction, and I can't bear to think of how you would have handled not being able to blog for so long ???
