Ev Nucci gives thanks for peace globes, awards and her global friends this Thanksigiving!

Did you miss me? I missed you. It's Thanksgiving in the United States and you know what's really cool about writing a blog is how your perspective changes...it's global. I don't think about things the same way anymore. I think about my friends like Anitokid & Manila Mom in the Philippines, my buddy Lifecruiser in Sweden, RennyBA and TorAa in Norway in , Aayush in India, Nihal in Malaysia, Jeremy in London, Billy & in Debra in Canada, Kim in Australia, Mimi, Jacer, Bobbarama, Brad and Polli, in America just to name a few....and my life is anything but in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania.

What do I give thanks to? My global friends...and the world you created for me. Without all of you my life would not be nearly as rich...and so I thank the blogging world for making me richer...for our minds make our spirit great!

I've been away from my blog for some time because I was ill, busy with business, working on my book and life got in the way. So I've got quite a bit of catching up to do...I'm sure I missed some awards that were given to me...if I missed your post I'm sorry. Please forgive me, it wasn't intentional. I'm passing these awards out to my buddies...do with them as you please!

This is just love to go around!

Sandra Janski at Silverbullet Enterprises Ltd designed these
Peace Globes for me. All five of them.
Sandra...you are truly awesome.

Now it took me a while to post these
but check out what Sandra did.

#1 Son

He's actually #1...but no biggy.
I'm sure that #2 loves that fact that
he's regarded now as #1 in the pictures!

#2 Son

This is #2...not #1 and he's a senior in high school this year. It's tough thinking of his bedroom being empty in a few months. I go into his bedroom and sit down and talk to him frequently. The other evening my friend asked me how I do that. I told her to "parrot" one or two words back to her teenager. The conversation will take off. Go into their room and either lay down on their bed...sit on their chair...or lay on their carpet. Go into their space. Not yours. Then ask them what's going on. They'll say nothing. Sit there and don't say a word for a while. When they say something...whatever it is, repeat one word back to them that they said. The exact word. For example, he says,

"I'm reading this crazy book."

"A book?"

"It's hard to understand."

"Hard to understand."

"Check this out Mom..."

And he pulls out the book and off your conversation will take....trust me on this. It's called the "Art of Communication with teenagers" Now I don't have daughters, but I hear about them and they get nasty. And lying...oh gees. It means you don't have a relationship built on trust. And you better get there quick because what they lie as teenagers it impacts their professional lives. The loss of integrity and credibility...that's a shame. Don't let that happen. That's your job.

#3 Son

And #3 is my constant source of heartache and joy. He is God's greatest gift to the planet. Special needs children can give us grace. He gave me a steel toed mind, boots and mouth. God gives me faith and stamina. Injustice fuels me.

Wacky Mom Globe

It's funny how life throws us daggers.
We chose everyday how we deal with those daggers.
Do it with style and grace.

Ev Nucci

The other night my friend and I went to see the play, "Death of a Salesman" at St. Joseph's Preparatory School where #2 goes to high school. It's riveting. Perspective is everything in life. How we can seemingly screw up our children in one action, they evidence our lack of integrity...our fall from grace. Standing strong in the face of all adversity is character.

I have dear friends dealing with great injustice that it angered me so much, I had to isolate myself from their situation. Injustice makes me explosive. The pain of knowing so many people would destroy another person's life has been incomprehensible. Cowards.

The concept "never or forever" don't exist. Why? Because you'll never know what someone will or will not do. You discover "who" someone is not in the good times...only in the worst of times. Character is defined in times of struggle...not in times of greatness. When I see the worst in people it saddens me. When I see it in myself...it makes me angry. I stop and analyze my own behavior. What am I doing? Is that ugliness in me? Why share my ugliness with someone else? Do you ask yourself that question...do you self-reflect? Do you think about how you affect people? Do you consider you aren't so great? Because maybe you aren't. Maybe you need to give someone else some kindness...give them a break. Maybe you should be doing for someone else other than yourself.

The thought something so horrid would happen to you or me paralyzed me for months. It forced me to question mankind. It would be a riveting novel if it wasn't someone's life.

Hug your children...and your friends and pray for peace. Life's too short to care about stupid stuff. Thank You for Being Here. It really means a lot to me that you take time out of your schedule to come by.

I have missed you! I feel like you went off to Hawaii and never came back! Sorry you have been so ill.

Thanks for the awards. And, I feel weird saying this, but: your sons are hot. I know you already know they are good, caring, hardworking young men -- but damn it, they're good looking too! ;)

You have plenty to be thankful for, life has blessed you.

Thank you for linking to my Monsters & Apparitions blog... my main personal blog is The Love Blog, so I am glad that I can come show you some love in return.

Smoochies.

mary p jones,
I really missed you! I felt like I went to Hawaii and never came back to my blog...it was what happened to me when I got back here...where my head was.

And you know what that is...life piled up!

You're welcome for the awards. And its OK about saying my sons are nice looking.

I usually have an issue when my friends start telling them in front of them...because I believe...how should they or could they feel proud of something they had nothing to do with?
But trust me, it's nice to hear!

Well, there is one thing that's very annoying for me, it's kind of my Achilles heal and that's exactly: unjustice. I just can't stand it. Makes me totally crazy. It's soo darn frustrating. can make me mad as nothing else can.

Another thing: I always try to live after the rule: treat others that you liked to be treated yourself. You really can get far by this rule and it's really simple. Just stop and think over the situation: how would I like to be treated if that were me? That thought stops a lot of bad behavior!

Oh, and thanks of thinking of me for one of the awards, you're such a goooood blogging buddy :-D

hey ev! thanks for the mention! to be called a friend - it always feels soooo good.

peace and thanksgiving touch me very much particularly right now because of a somewhat heated discussion on my blog right now about the tragedy of the robert dziekanski who was killed at our vancouver airport a month ago.

the occurrence itself and then people's reactions to it are such an indication of what's happening in our world right now. an ease with violence on the one hand, and such a strong and strongly expressed desire for peace on the other.

ooops, i hadn't really thought i'd write this much. you brought it out in me, ev!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

I hope you and your lovely family had a great holiday.

Injustice goes unnoticed by those worried about not getting that job they weren't qualified for to begin with, by those who don't want to bother, by those who feel everyone who is not them is the other and therefore does not matter.

I wish health upon you and hope you are feeling better.

Thank you.

Those are some kick ass globes.

I was going to say sons, but I took the high road.

Ev Nucci!

Welcome back, dahling! The blogosphere has missed you!

I'm quite certain your sons are as beautiful on the inside, as they are on the outside. After all, they take after their mama, right?

My word--I got dizzy(er) just looking at all the links! You have been one busy gal. Congrat's on all the awards. Well deserved and long overdue.

Behave yourself, Ev Nucci!

Hugs,
